The birthday boy Bruce Chen, who just turned 35 yesterday, picked up a 2-1 win today for the Royals in Houston, as he gets back to 6-6 on the year.  Chen, pitching on three days rest, threw 94 pitches in 5.2 innings and allowed one run and five hits to go along with six strikeouts. Jonathan Broxton picked up his 18th save, as Royals pitches struck out a total of 14 Houston batters.

Yuniesky Bentancourt and Brayan Pena each with an RBI. It’s only the third time since 1996 that the Royals have won a game with four hits or less.
