Hazelwood Police chief retires

June 20, 2012 By admin

After 42 years in law enforcement and 26 at the helm of the Hazelwood Police Department, Carl Wolf is calling it a career. Wolf retires from police work at the end of the month. Hazelwood has nearly doubled in population and more than tripled in size since he became chief in 1985. Wolf returned from serving in the Navy in Vietnam and installed burglar alarms for a while before joining the Ladue police force. He worked in two more departments before coming to Hazelwood. He is also the treasurer of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Wolf plans to take a job in the private sector.
