Former Missouri Tiger tight end Martin Rucker was placed on injured reserve by the Kansas City Chiefs and will undergo season ending surgery for his injured right knee.  Rucker, who signed with the team in mid-May, was injured during a goal line drill on June 1st. The club officially placed the three-year NFL veteran on injured reserve late Wednesday afternoon.

Rucker spent time on the practice squad for Dallas and Jacksonville the last two seasons, and was last on an active roster back in 2010 with Cleveland. Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said I.R. is the best move at this time. “He’s going to take some time to recover, so we’re going to put him on IR and then go from there.”
