The Cardinals only managed four hits, but one was Carlos Beltran’s NL leading 19th homer of the season as the Redbirds beat the Chicago White Sox, 1-0.

Beltran’s homer came off Sox starter Jake Peavy in the third on a night when manager Mike Matheny considered sitting Beltran. That run was enough for rookie Lance Lynn who gave up just three hits in 7.1 innings and struck out a career high 12 to join Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey, who threw a one hitter last night, as the league’s first 10-game winners.
