Illinois’ take hike on smokes could be a boon for Missouri’s cheap cigarette sales.
Gov. Quinn has signed a bill raising the price of a pack of cigarettes in Illinois by a dollar.
Missouri’s cigarette tax is the cheapest in the nation — 17 cents a pack — and smokers are expected to stock up across the border from Illinois with that state’s new price hike now in effect.
