An animal rights group brings its message to downtown St. Louis to protest anti-farm animal cruelty.

“Mercy for Animals” is erecting a giant balloon of a puppy inside a hot dog bun near the Gateway Arch.

Spokesman Phil Letten says the message is that if we wouldn’t eat our own dog or cat, why would we eat a cow, a pig or a chicken?

The group promotes a vegetarian diet and is speaking out against farming practices where animals are kept in small cages and stalls.
