It was quite a sight during the ninth inning of Sunday’s Cardinals-Indians game. Former Cardinal pitcher Chris Perez was out on the mound closing the game out for his team’s 4-1 win and was picked up on cameras multiple times getting sick. The culprit? Warm water.

“I drank some warm water and I ran out there, and it just didn’t settle well,” Perez said after the game. “What am I going to do, call timeout and run into the dugout? If you remember, a couple years ago in spring training it was the same situation. So I need to stay away from warm water.”

Perez picked up his 20th straight save of the season as the Indians closed to a half game of the Chicago White Sox, who play in a series at Busch Stadium starting on Tuesday.
