A suspected shoplifting incident at a Mehlville Wal-Mart has led to the evacuation of the store because the suspect was making methamphetamine in a bottle in her purse. Police say the woman was processing a so-called one-pot batch in a plastic pop bottle. A police spokesman says the bottle had the potential to explode or catch fire at any time.
The woman and a man with her have been arrested. A search of their car turned u several meth precursors.
Police say the woman was not trying to steal ingredients for meth but they found several items related to the drug, such as medicines, pills and chemicals, in the suspects’ car.
