Governor Nixon today signed a bill into law that helps more Missourians get a college degree.

Nixon says currently, 35 percent Missouri adults have a degree … he wants to increase that to 60 percent by 2020.

The bill require all two- and four-year schools to create a core of at least 25 undergraduate courses by July 2014, that are transferable among all public institutions; and

Develop a reverse transfer policy among two- and four-year public institutions that allow students more flexibility in transferring credits to a different school.

Nixon says by 2018, nearly two-thirds of all jobs in the U.S. will require some kind of post-secondary education.
