Chiefs sign YouTube QB (VIDEO)

June 6, 2012 By Bill Pollock

If you are not one of the 2.5 million viewers who have checked out Alex Tanney’s trick shot QB video on YouTube, I’ve got it right here. Even if you’ve watched it before, it’s worth another look.  Tanney worked out for the Buffalo Bills last month, but was not offered a contract. Tanney will be the fourth quarterback in camp along with starter Matt Cassel, Brady Quinn and Ricky Stanzi after signing with the Chiefs on Tuesday.

Tanney played college ball at Monmouth College in Illinois, which is a D-III school and his numbers were impressive. He is Division III’s all-time leader in passing yards (14,249) and played in 47 games at Monmouth completing 1,339 of 1,622 pass attempts (82.6 pct.). He also set an NCAA record with 157 touchdowns. Tanney threw just 30 interceptions during his career at Monmouth. However, it’s his ability in this video that caught the eyes of those in the NFL.
