Mizzou reinstates quarterback Berkstresser

June 5, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Mizzou backup quarterback Corbin Berkstresser has been reinstated to the team after a charge in a traffic incident have been classified as a misdemeanor. He was accused of leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a parked car on May 15th. According to school policy, a student-athlete can’t return to a team if they’ve been charged with a felony.

Berkstresser saw time with the number one unit in the spring after James Franklin underwent shoulder surgery after beating out Ashton Glaser for number two on the spring depth chart.

More competition is coming this fall, when freshmen Maty Mauk enters Mizzou. Mauk holds the national record for career passing yards in high school.
