Sante Fe takes Class 1 baseball state title

June 1, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Sante Fe bounced back from a 3-1 first inning deficit to storm back and take the Class 1 baseball state title with a convincing 12-3 win against Norwood at Meador Park in Springfield.

Keaton Graf settled in to pitch a complete game after giving up three first innings runs (two earned), by striking out eight while allowing two hits and four walks. Graf also went 3 for 5 with a pair of RBIs as Sante Fe’s 3-7 hitters went a combined 10 for 17 with 7 runs driven in.

Sante Fe finished with just one loss on the year and 23 wins. Norwood’s season ends with a 22-6 record.
