Royals starter Bruce Chen finally got some run support and came back after a shaky start to move above .500 in his career as the Royals beat the Indians 6-3 in Cleveland.  Chen allowed three runs in the second inning then settled into five innings of work as the Royals bats woke up and scored five runs for Chen who came into the game seventh from the bottom of AL starters in run support.

The Royals hit four doubles and three hitters had two hits and Brayan Pena had a three hit night. Alex Gordon, Johnny Giovatella, and Mike Moustakas each had multi-hit games as KC tacked on an insurance run in the eighth.

Jonathan Broxton combined with three other relievers to hold Cleveland to just three hits over the final four innings, but Broxton loaded the bases by giving up a single and two walks before nailing down his 11th save.
