Wilson, Griesedieck fined, await sentencing

May 25, 2012 By Mary Furness

The state ethics commission has fined former Governor Roger Wilson $2,000 for improperly funneling campaign money to the state democratic party. It also has fined St. Louis attorney Ed Griesedieck the same amount.

Both are awaiting sentencing for arranging for the Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance company to pay fake invoices filed by company chairman Douglas Morgan. Morgan, who has since died, filed the invoices to get company money to offset donations he had made to the state Democratic Party.

Wilson and Griesedieck will be sentenced in July on misdemeanor charges growing out of the case. Both have pleaded guilty.
