Lanagan cops wrote ‘fake’ tickets

May 25, 2012 By Mary Furness

The police chief and the only other police officer in the southwest Missouri town of Lanagan have been charged with writing tickets based on non-existent laws.

The federal indictment against Chief Larry Marsh accuses him of writing three citations based on a statute that does not exist, and two more forgery charges for submitting false information about traffic stops to the Attorney General’s office. Police officer Michael Gallahue is charged with two forgery counts for writing tickets based on non-existent statues.

Both officers have been suspended without pay.
