Cardinals first baseman Lance Berkman revealed an MRI exam shows he suffered meniscu tear on the inner and outer parts of his right knee as well as some cartilage damage. What’s to be determined is whether or not his ACL is injured. If that is the case, his season is over and quite possibly his career.

Berkman will get a second look later this week in Vail, CO. and he said he expects doctors will find ACL damage. Meanwhile, Cardinals GM John Mozeliak is being optimistic that the knee only has meniscus damage.  If there is no ACL damage, then Berkman will have surgery and miss 6-8 weeks.
