All-Star roster announced for legends and celebrity softball game

The 2012 Legends & Celebrity Softball Game will feature a roster of Hall of Fame and All-Star talent including former Royals greats George Brett, Bo Jackson and Mike Sweeney at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.  For the first time, the softball game will increase to six-innings. This year the game is scheduled to include: 14-time All-Star and Hall of Famer Ernie Banks; 13-time All-Star, World Series Champion and Hall of Famer George Brett; five-time All-Star and two-time World Series Champion Joe Carter; eight-time All-Star and Hall of Famer Andre Dawson; seven-time All-Star, World Series Champion and Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers; 10-time All-Star, two-time World Series Champion and Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson; All-Star outfielder Bo Jackson; 12-time All-Star Mike Piazza; 15-time All-Star, World Series Champion and Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith; five-time All-Star and MLB Network analyst Mike Sweeney; 12-time All-Star, World Series Champion and Hall of Famer Dave Winfield.

The game features Major League Baseball legends with celebrities from TV, movies and music, and is the second game of a fun doubleheader of activity at Kauffman Stadium on All-Star Sunday. Preceding the softball game will be theAll-Star Futures Game, featuring some of MLB’s best young prospects from the U.S. and around the world.
