Mizzou softball advances to regional final

May 20, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Ashley Fleming hit her 43rd career home run to move her into a tie for second on Mizzou’s all-time list as the Missouri Tigers beat DePaul 1-0 to advance to Sunday’s regional final.

Fleming’s 16th of the year came in the bottom of the ninth as the 9th ranked Tigers will play for their fourth regional title in a row.

Mizzou’s Chelsea Thomas pitched all nine innings, allowing five hits and striking out 10. Missouri plays Illinois State at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Tigers opened with a 6-0 win Friday against the Redbirds.
