Corbin Berkstresser

Missouri backup quarterback Corbin Berkstresser was arrested early Tuesday morning for leaving the scene of an accident in Columbia. The 20 year old from Lee’s Summit, MO was taken into custody just after 3:30 a.m and released after posting $4,500 bond.

According to police reports, Berkstresser admitted he was involved in the collision of a parked car on Lynnwood Drive in Columbia. A parked vehicle was struck by another vehicle. Damage was to the rear and front passenger side of the vehicle, estimated at more than $1,000.

Leaving the scene of an accident is a class A misdemeanor, unless there’s a physical injury and/or property damage of more than $1,000. In those instances, the violation is considered a class D felony.

Berkstresser filled in as the number one quarterback this spring after starter James Franklin underwent shoulder surgery. Missouri officials have not commented.
