Murder charges dropped against KC lawyer

May 8, 2012 By admin

Murder charges have been dropped against a Kansas City attorney in the killing of his partner in 2000. Richard Buchli had been accused of beating Richard Armitage to death in their office in Kansas City’s Power and Light Building. An appeals court last week threw out all evidence in the case, and now prosecutors have dismissed the charges against Buchli. He was convicted in 2002 of first degree murder and armed criminal action, but that was thrown out in 2006. Attorneys were preparing for a second trial when the court ruling was handed down last week.
