Governor Nixon to decide on tax increase at St. Louis Arch

May 8, 2012 By admin

It’s now up to the Governor whether local voters will decide on a tax increase for the Gateway Arch grounds and other regional parks. The proposal would let the St. Louis Board of Aldermen and the councils for St. Louis and St. Charles counties ask voters to approve a three-sixteenths-cent sales tax. The proceeds would go to improving pedestrian connections between the Arch grounds and the downtown. The House and the Senate have both signed off on the idea.
