Mo Supreme Court rejects state appeal in 12-year old Kansas City Murder

May 2, 2012 By admin

The State Supreme Court has declined to hear the state’s appeal of an order that threw out evidence against the suspect in a Kansas City murder case.Richard Buchli was charged with murder in May 2000 in the death of his law partner, Richard Armitage. He was convicted in 2002 and sentenced to life without parole. That conviction was overturned in 2006 when a judge found that a defense lawyer was ineffective and said prosecutors withheld evidence. A Missouri appeals court ruled in December that all the evidence against Buchli be thrown out.
