One dead after storms hit near Busch Stadium

April 29, 2012 By Bill Pollock

58-year old Alfred Goodman died Saturday after strong winds blew in through downtown St. Louis near Busch Stadium. The sudden winds blew over a large tent at a bar just south of the stadium that also injured around 100 people.  Goodman was struck by debris

The tent was set up as a beer garden behind Kilroy’s Sports Bar, 720 South Seventh Street. The storm demolished the tent and blew it against a nearby railroad structure.

17 people were taken to area hospitals. Five were admitted and listed in serious condition as of Saturday night. The rest were treated at the scene, mainly for cuts and bruises.
