Mountain lion No. 29 spotted in Grundy Co.

April 25, 2012 By Mary Furness

Another mountain lion has been spotted in rural northern Missouri.

A trail camera in a wooded area of Grundy County caught the cat on film.

A Wisconsin man who leases the property for hunting reported the image to the state’s Mountain Lion Response Team.

This is the 29th confirmed mountain lion sighting in the state since 19-94.

They were once native to Missouri. Conservation officials think young males are making their way back into the state as they move in from western states.
