Robert Steeples, a redshirt senior from DeSmet/St. Louis is leaving the University of Missouri and is visiting Memphis and SMU. Steeples came into the spring season listed #2 on the depth chart at cornerback behind E.J. Gaines. Pat Mahoney, his high school coach at DeSmet, told the Kansas City Star, “I’m sure he’s leaving for more playing time, but everything he said to me was about academics,” Mahoney said. “He graduates in May and whatever graduate degree he wants, Missouri doesn’t offer.”
Steeples appeared in 39 games over the past three seasons, with one start last season.
