Missouri State pitcher reaches 600 strikeouts

April 19, 2012 By Bill Pollock

The Missouri State softball team (19-19, 7-9) split a doubleheader, 1-0 and 1-5, against visiting Wichita State (11-32, 4-13) at Killian Stadium on Wednesday. In the doubleheader, senior pitcher Natalie Rose struck out 13 Shockers to reach 600 career strikeouts, one of only three pitchers in school history to reach the milestone.  It was also Rose’s 15th complete game of the season. She also did not allow a walk bettering her 0.82 walks per seven innings that ranked fourth in the country entering the week.
