State adds more jobs, unemployment continues to drop

April 17, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

Missouri added 48-hundred new jobs in March. The Missouri Department of Economic Development says the state’s unemployment rate was at 7.4 in March … and is currently at a 39-month low, falling more than 2 percent since peaking at 9.7 percent in August 2009. In comparison, the U.S. rate for March 2012 was 8.2 percent, nearly a full percentage point higher than Missouri.
