Mizzou’s Flores selected in WNBA draft

April 17, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Missouri women’s basketball player Christine Flores was picked in the third round of the WNBA by the Phoenix Mercury, the 30th pick overall. Flores is the sixth Missouri Tiger to be drafted in the WNBA. She’s 15th all time on Mizzou’s scoring list and the school’s all-time leading shot blocker.

The other Tigers were LaToya Bond (Charlotte Sting, 2006), Christelle N’Garsanet (New York Liberty, 2006), Evan Unrau (Washington Mystics, 2004), Amanda Lassiter (Houston Comets, 2001; currently with the Chicago Sky), and Marlena Williams (Indiana Fever, 2001).

The Mercury begins its regular season on May 20.
