Mizzou edges Illinois at Busch Stadium

April 12, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Missouri’s Brett Graves threw a career-high six innings and struck out a career high seven as Missouri (18-14) won 5-4 over the Illinois Fighting Illini at Busch Stadium to claim a Braggin’ Rights victory.  Eric Garcia added two RBI to support Graves and two Tigers kept streaks alive at the plate. Blake Brown’s 19-game hitting streak and Brannon Champagne’s 24-game on-base streak remain intact.

The Tigers have won three straight games at Busch Stadium, with two wins over Illinois. Mizzou has scored 31 runs in those three wins at the St. Louis Cardinals home field.  Mizzou heads to Oklahoma this weekend, and returns home on Friday, April 20 against Kansas State
