Royals lefty Danny Duffy allowed one hit over six shutout innings while striking out eight, as Kansas City evens their series with a 3-0 win over the A’s. The game was cut short in the eighth inning due to rain in Oakland.

Duffy, pitching in front of least 150 family and friends, is now 3-0 with a 2.45 ERA in Oakland. Duffy grew up five hours south of Oakland. “I don’t know, I don’t really think it’s anything in this year,” said Duffy, who has five career wins. “I feel like it’s going to be pretty consistent everywhere we go, so I’m pretty excited.”

Mike Moustakas, back in the lineup after a day off, hit an RBI double in the fourth and Mitch Maier added a solo homer in the seventh for the Royals, which snapped a 25-inning scoreless streak in Oakland. Alex Gordon went 0 for 3 and is still looking for his first hit of the 2012 season.
