Dellwood City Council still deadlocked on police issue

April 9, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

Last weeks’ municipal elections might led to the resolution of a long-standing deadlock on the Dellwood City Council. The council has been split on whether to give up on its own police force and let St. Louis County police do it. Half the city council, which favors keeping a local force, has been staying away from meetings, seeing a quorum from being able to take action.

But last week’s election might have left the faction favoring local policing in the minority. The mayor says she’s ready to vote for St. Louis County handling the police duties if there’s a tie vote form the council.
