KC Catholic Official still to face charge for protecting priest accused of child abuse.

April 6, 2012 By admin

A Kansas City circuit judge has refused to dismiss a charge against the head of the Kansas City Catholic Diocese. Bishop Robert Finn remains the highest-ranking Catholic official in the nation charged with protecting a priest accused of child abuse. The Bishop’s lawyer says Finn is not a “mandated reporter” as defined by state law. The charge against him is a misdemeanor. He has admitted learning more than a year ago that a priest had stored images of children on his computer but did not give the information to authorities for several months.
