Blues must wait on clinching Central Division

March 30, 2012 By Bill Pollock

David Bolland broke an 0 for 7 career slump in shootout attempts, as the Chicago Blakchawks center beat Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak with a forehand in the fourth round of the shootout, as his goal held up in the Blue 4-3 loss Thursday night in Chicago. The loss prevented the Blues from clinching their first division title in 11 seasons.

Corey Crawford stopped David Perron, T.J. Oshie and Alexander Steen, before Patrik Berglund missed on his attempt to tie the game. The Blues has rallied once before in the game, after trailing 3-1, the Blues scored two goals in the third to force overtime. Jason Arnott scored 55 seconds after Patrick Sharp gave Chicago a 3-1 lead midway through the third. With 1:32 to go, Perron tipped in a slap shot past Crawford to gain at least one point in the standings.
