Joplin’s tornado reconstruction has hit a milestone $300-million worth of building permits issued. The city has issued more than 3900 repair and rebuilding permits since the May 22nd tornado last year. City officials 640 permits are for new homes. Almost 3000 are for residential repairs and rebuilding projects. About 250 of the permits are for work on business.
