Dispute in Jasper, Henry over who pays for inmates

March 20, 2012 By admin

One of our counties is suing the other one to recover the costs of holding the other county’s jail inmates. Henry County says Jasper County owes it $134,000. The lawsuit has been expanded to include Jasper County Sheriff Archie Dunn. Dunn put the inmates in the Henry County jail because of overcrowding in his own county’s jail. He and the county commission have been feuding for months about that action.
