Murder trial continues in Rolla in death of 9-year-old girl

March 19, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

The murder trial of a man accused of raping and killing a 9-year-old southwest Missouri girl goes into its second week today in Rolla. On trial is Christopher Collings, a friend of the stepfather of the girl, Rowan Ford of Stella. Collings lawyer has called the girl’s step-father, David Spears, as a witness. But he has invoked his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination. Spears faces a trial later.
