City of Columbia to pay $1.4M in bus, motorcycle fatal crash

The City of Columbia has agreed to pay $1.4 million dollars to the survivors of a man killed when his motorcycle crashed into a city bus. The family of Centralia resident Michael Heaston charged the driver of the city bus was careless and negligent when he made a left turn. Heaston’s motorcycle hit the left side of the bus. The bus driver was convicted of careless and imprudent driving and put on two years of probation.
