Cardinals starting pitcher Chris Carpenter, sidelined with a sore neck, threw 30 fastballs today off the mound and said while he felt great, tomorrow will really tell how his neck held up to the strain. Carpenter said it will take another bullpen session to determine when he’ll be ready to pitch in a spring training game.
