New Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is back in St. Louis as he awaits word from the NFL on any disciplinary actions that make take place after the “pay for play” scandal was made public while he coach at New Orleans. Head coach Jeff Fishers, Williams, and any of the other coaches or players aren’t being made available for comment.

The range of the length of the suspension has ranged anywhere from four games up to the entire season. We do know this. What Williams and the Saints players were doing wasn’t foreign to other teams in the league, Williams will be used as an example. If Williams is out for any extended period of time, what will the Rams do? Most likely turn to assistant head coach Dave McGinnis.

McGinnis is a former NFL head coach and five years as the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator from 1996-2000, and coached linebackers under Fisher in Tennessee. Prior to that he coach linebackers in Chicago back in the 80’s with defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan.
