A judge has refused to grant a continuance in the child endangerment case against a Joplin man in the death of an 18-month-old boy. The prosecutor says the investigation against Eric J. Hicks is continuing. An autopsy considers the death of Emjay Corn a homicide. Hicks was the boyfriend of the boy’s mother. She was in the hospital when the boy was discovered dead in his crib.
