March 8, 2012 By Bill Pollock

In the men’s bracket, Oklahoma State beat the No. 10 seed Texas Tech 76-60 Wednesday night in the opening round of the Big 12 Men’s Championship, despite not having the services of injured center Philip Jurick and second-leding scorer Le’Bryan Nash,

Texas A&M’s knocked off No. 8 seed Oklahoma, 62-53, in an opening round game. Texas A&M (14-17) advances to Wednesday’s quarterfinals and will face top-seeded Kansas (26-5) at 2 p.m. at the Sprint Center. Two weeks ago in College Station, Texas A&M played Kansas tough before losing 66-58.

In the women’s bracket, Casey Morris had 21 points to lead five Texas Tech players scoring in double figures in an 81-58 victory against Texas in the first round of the Big 12 tournament on Wednesday night.  The Missouri women hold on for a 72-68 win over Oklahoma State and advance to play Oklahoma at 5 p.m.
