Governor Jay Nixon requests a federal major disaster declaration for 18 of Missouri’s counties affected by last week’s severe weather. Adair, Barry, Barton, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Cedar, Dallas, Daviess, Laclede, Linn, Madison, Phelps , Polk , Pulaski, Scott, Stoddard, Stone and Taney counties were severely affected by the system that moved through the state on February 29th . The severe weather caused three deaths, numerous injuries and widespread destruction.
