Blues trade St. Louis native Bishop

The St. Louis Blues acquired a second round draft choice in 2013 from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for goaltender Ben Bishop. The 25 year old Bishop, played in 38 games with the Peoria Rivermen (American Hockey League) this season and has posted a .928 save percentage, a 2.26 goals against average and six shutouts along with a 24-14-0 record. The 6’7, 215-pound goaltender was recently named MVP of the 2012 AHL All-Star Game.

A native of St. Louis, Bishop was originally drafted by the Blues in the third round, 85th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in 13 NHL games, registering a 4-5-1 record, one shutout, a .896 save percentage and a 2.83 goals against average.
