Actor Brad Pitt’s foundation is teaming up with a Kansas City architectural firm to turn an abandoned Kansas City school into affordable apartments and a community center. Pitt is a native of Springfield.  The project will cost $14 million dollars.  It will create 29 apartments and a 62-hundred square foot community center. A second building also will be put up with 21 more apartments. Pitt and the architectural firm he’s working with partnered on some Hurricane Katrina projects in New Orleans.
