Study shows lawyers are Nixon’s biggest donors

An analysis of Gov. Jay Nixon’s campaign donations shows about one-third of the $6.3 million he’s raised has come from one group — lawyers. A St. Louis Post-Dispatch study says the average donation from a lawyer is about double the average donation from other people. Lawyers average just under $2,500 per donation. Other donors donate about $13,400.Nixon is a lawyer and was the state’s top lawyer, the Attorney General, for 16 years
