“It’s official now! I got my 6th year! #SEC #MIZ #6thYear” That was how Elvis Fisher let his friends and fans know on Twitter that he will be returning to Missouri football for the 2012 season after missing all of last year with a knee injury. It comes at a time when the Tigers could use some experience on the o-line.

Fisher tore his patellar tendon in his left knee during line drills over the summer. The injury came just days after he was named one of the team captains. He applied for a medical waiver through the NCAA immediately after the injury. Fisher finally heard back from the NCAA after several months.

Fisher will anchor the offensive line at left tackle. The Tigers will have to replace guards Jayson Palmgren and Austin Wuebbels and right tackle Dan Hoch. Mizzou has some starting experience coming back with junior Justin Britt and seniors Travis Ruth and Jack Meiners. All three started seven games last year.
