Michael Dixon scored 21 points, including the game-winning layup with 31 seconds left, as # 4 Missouri beat Texas 67-66 on Monday night.

J’Covan Brown, who scored 20 for Texas, had just given the Longhorns the lead for the first time since early in the first half, before Dixon’s layup. Texas had one more shot to win it, but freshman Myck Kabongo came up short on his baseline jumper.

As well as Dixon played all game, he made a serious error which almost cost the Tigers. After Texas had cut a 13 point Mizzou lead down to three, Dixon got called for a flagrant foul for elbowing a Longhorn player. Julien Lewis hit two free throws making it a 65-64 game Brown gave Texas the brief lead.

Ricardo Ratliff and Phil Pressey added 13 points each for Missouri (20-2, 7-2 Big 12), who was outrebounded 38-26, but held Texas to 2 of 12 from three-point range.

4th ranked Missouri will now get ready for 8th ranked Kansas on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Mizzou Arena.
