Mizzou 4th, Kansas 8th ahead of Border Showdown…ESPN’s Gameday will be there

January 30, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Missouri and Kansas fell in the college basketball polls released earlier today but Saturday’s Border War in Columbia will still be a top-10 matchup.

The 19-2 Tigers, dipped from 2nd to 4th in both the AP and coaches’ polls after losing at Oklahoma State and beating Texas Tech on Saturday. The Jayhawks, 17-4, dropped to 8th from 5th in both polls after beating after losing at Iowa State on Saturday.

ESPN’s College Game Day will broadcast live from the Mizzou Arena floor Saturday morning from 9-11 in front of the MU-KU game. Doors will open at 7 a.m.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Fans are encouraged to design signs and posters, wear gold and display as much school spirit as possible. Attendees will also have the chance to win a variety of free giveaways, including one lucky student participating in a half-court shot promotion for a chance to win $18,000.

Parking is available in Lots M and R and the Maryland Avenue Garage (Level 3 and above). ADA friendly parking is available in Lot I, just North of Mizzou Arena. Parking shuttles will not be available. Parking for College GameDay is FREE.

Concessions will be open inside Mizzou Arena during the event. Additionally, free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts will be available prior to 7 a.m. outside Mizzou Arena to fans waiting in line. Students who attend College GameDay will receive entry priority for the basketball game.
