Blues goaltender Brian Elliott will travel to Ottawa to be part of the 2012 NHL All-Star Weekend at Scotiabank Place. Elliott ranks first overall in the NHL in goals-against average (1.69), save percentage (.938) and ranks second overall in shutouts (5). He is 15-5-2 in 23 appearances for the Blues this season.

“I don’t think you can get to this League without believing in yourself, so I was confident and pretty stubborn,” Elliott said recently. “All throughout my career, I’ve been pushing…if you have an opportunity, you take it and try to run with it.”

Ottawa’s Daniel Alfredsson and Boston’s Zdeno Chara will select their teams during the 2012 NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft. Brian Elliott will face off against some of the league’s best shooters in skills competitions on Saturday with the All Star game set for Sunday.

All the festivities will be shown on the NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus). The draft is Thursday night at 7 p.m., the skills competition Saturday at 6 p.m. and the game Sunday at 3 p.m. (all Central time)
