A Kansas City school board candidate has been thrown off the ballot because it appears he’s on parole for a felony conviction. The Kansas City election board thinks candidate Sanford Willis is on probation for a drug trafficking conviction in 2009. He has told the Kansas City Star that’s not true but he has failed to contest the decision before the ballot has been finalized. The board slot will have to be filled with a write-in candidate.
